TEHRAN – Iran executed on Saturday eight members of Daesh (ISIL) over attacks on the Iranian parliament and the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini in 2017.
Daesh attacked the parliament in central Tehran and the mausoleum in southern Tehran on June 7, 2017, killing 18 and wounding dozens. All five attackers were killed.
Iranian security forces killed the mastermind of the attacks outside Iran just three days after the attacks.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired missiles at Islamic State targets in Syria on June 19, 2017 in retaliation for the group’s deadly attacks in Tehran.
